How to Handle the Tooth
Pick up the tooth by the crown, the white part you normally see, never by the root. If it is dirty, rinse it gently with milk or saline for no more than 10 seconds. Do not scrub it or wrap it in tissue. The best thing you can do is gently push it back into the socket and hold it there with light pressure. If that is not possible, place it in a small container of milk or hold it between your cheek and gum. Then call us and get here fast.

When you arrive, we clean the socket, reposition the tooth, and splint it to the neighboring teeth so it can heal in place. We will take X-rays to check for fractures in the bone or root.
